Tuning Debounce and AMB
Due to a recent flood of inquiries regarding the latest VX firmware releases. I have decided to write a brief synopsis relating to how I personally tune the Debounce and AMB settings.
The new algorithm decouples the Debounce and AMB settings so that you can tune each setting separately. The default settings should be very close, if not slightly on the conservative side, for an accurate "one trigger pull equals one shot" action.
- Turn AMB and Debounce down to the lowest setting
- Adjust trigger to user preference
- I usually call this the "slap test" as this usually includes some sort of slappage of the marker. What you are primarily testing for is mechanical bounce. Slap the trigger, side of the trigger, etc ... Increase AMB until you get a reliable shot from "slapping" the trigger.
- Now comes the tricky part, you should be able to walk to trigger and feel a little bounce at the lowest Debounce setting. Increase Debounce until you get a reliable shot. This is the toughest part since it's mainly subjective and rests solely on user perspective.
Custom PSP and NXL Firing Modes
With the recent rumors of leagues changing the Rate of Fire capable at tournaments, the latest firmware upgrades have user tunable fire modes similar to PSP and NXL. In the Custom PSP and Custom NXL firing modes, the Rate of Fire Cap and Pre Shot Counter settings are used.
For instance, if you want to fire in PSP mode, but limit the Rate of Fire to 12. Set the Pre Shot Counter to 3, Fire Mode to Custom PSP Mode and the Rate of Fire Cap to 12bps (as indicated in the table per the user manual).
